Dreamforce ’25 Keynote: Welcome to the Agentic Enterprise

These are my takeaways and opinions after watching the Dreamforce 2025 main keynote. I left genuinely fired up about what’s possible when humans and AI agents work together.

TL;DR (and why I’m excited)

Dreamforce ’25 made one thing crystal clear: we’re entering the era of the Agentic Enterprise—a model where human teams and AI agents collaborate in the flow of work to strip out bureaucracy and busywork so people can focus on creativity, connection, and solving novel problems. Salesforce announced Agentforce 360 (GA), deepened partnerships with leading model providers, and showed how Slack becomes the agentic operating system where people and agents coordinate in real time. The vibe: less “AI hype,” more “it ships today.

The headline: Agentforce 360 is now generally available

Salesforce’s biggest announcement was the global launch/GA of Agentforce 360, described as an end-to-end platform for building, governing, and scaling enterprise AI agents—grounded in your data and controls, and usable across Sales, Service, Marketing, Field, IT, and more. This is the connective tissue of the Agentic Enterprise story: humans + agents + data + apps, all on one platform.

What’s new in Agentforce 360 (my highlights)

  • Agentforce Builder: a conversational studio to design, test, and deploy agents using natural language.
  • Hybrid Reasoning & Agent Script: mix deterministic workflows with LLM reasoning for predictable, auditable behavior.
  • Agentforce Voice: native voice for contact centers and field work; natural conversations replace rigid IVR trees.
  • Observability: dashboards for reasoning quality, accuracy, and compliance (finally, the “SRE for agents” moment).

Salesforce backed this with adoption figures and live demos—and the kicker: Salesforce itself is “Customer Zero.”

Data 360 + Customer 360 Apps + Slack = the Agentic stack

What impressed me was how the keynote threaded the platform story:

  • Data 360 (the evolution/rename of Data Cloud) adds richer context for agents and standardized semantics so they reason with shared definitions instead of spreadsheet folklore.
  • Customer 360 Apps now ship with embedded agents: Agentforce Sales, Marketing, Service, Field Service, Revenue, IT Service, Commerce, and industry packs. These aren’t sidecars—they act directly in the workflow.
  • Slack becomes the agentic OS with Slack-first apps, Enterprise Search, the Channel Expert agent, and partner integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and more). It’s where humans coordinate with agents.

Even tech giants are going agentic: Meta & Anthropic proof points

I always look for “show me you run it yourselves” moments. We got two big ones.

ROI of Meta's data360 project

Meta: internal adoption highlighted in the main keynote

During the Dreamforce ’25 Data360 Keynote, Salesforce spotlighted how Meta is harnessing Data 360 to consolidate data from different business units in order to offer a consistent B2B Customer experience.

My takeaway: when Magnificent 7 companies are leveraging Data 360, it proves the value and strength of the platform as a data activation layer.

Anthropic: running agentic workflows—and expanding for regulated industries

Salesforce and Anthropic announced an expanded partnership aimed at regulated and data-sensitive industries, bringing Claude into Agentforce 360 and deepening Slack integration—so teams can analyze documents, access organizational intelligence, and take action without tab-hopping. Anthropic isn’t just a partner; they’re a customer running agentic workflows (see their Slack story). Translation: direct, compounding ROI—time saved on prep, faster compliant decisions, and stronger frontline productivity.

Bottom line: Meta and Anthropic aren’t just talking about agents—they’re running them on top of Data 360 + Agentforce 360. That’s the Agentic Enterprise in the wild: agents eliminate bureaucratic drag, humans focus on creative and customer-centric work, and value shows up as speed, quality, and happier teams.

Why this matters: the bureaucracy tax is about to shrink

Here’s the human story I heard in the keynote: agents eliminate red tape—the status pings, swivel-chair updates, ticket triage, documentation drudgery—so people can meet customers, ideate, design, and solve. When an account team has an always-on expert agent in Slack, the meeting prep, data pulls, and follow-ups are done before anyone even joins the call. Service teams move from reactive firefighting to proactive, agent-assisted care. Leaders stop asking for “status” and start coaching on outcomes. That’s the Agentic Enterprise.

How my mental model evolved (the “Agentic Enterprise” lens)

Correani et. al, 2020, Digital Strategy Implementation framework

This year’s announcements clicked for me when I put them against a classic digital-strategy lens I love: Correani et al.’s 2020 paper on executing digital transformation. Their Digital Strategy Implementation Framework lays out the building blocks—scope, data, platform, AI, people/partners, processes, and transformed activities—and the DF25 story lines up almost perfectly:

  • Scope: “Elevate people, don’t replace them.”
  • Data & Platform: Data 360 + Agentforce 360 for grounded reasoning and reliable action.
  • AI: Hybrid reasoning, observability, and voice.
  • People & Partners: Slack for collaboration; open ecosystem for models and integrations.
  • Processes: Low-code Builder + governance; agents inside the flow of work.
  • Transformed Activities: Sales, Service, Field, IT, Commerce—now agent-accelerated.

What I’ll be watching next

  • Agent reliability at scale: I want to see standard KPIs (accuracy, latency, containment, human satisfaction) become default dashboards across Agentforce 360.
  • Model governance in regulated industries: The expanded Anthropic partnership explicitly targets regulated sectors (financial services, healthcare, etc.), with deeper Claude ↔ Slack/Agentforce integration and governance. The recently announced Mulesoft Agent Fabric seems the exact type of tool necessary to achieve this governance.
  • Slack as the agentic hub: Slack is positioning itself as the agentic OS—the place where people and agents move from conversation → decision → action. I’ll be tracking real customer stories and app/agent marketplace momentum.

Final thought

I’ve sat through plenty of “AI will change everything” keynotes. This one felt different because it focused on how we’ll work differently—with agents removing the bureaucracy tax and elevating the distinctly human parts of the job. If you’ve been waiting for the moment when AI stops being a sidecar and becomes part of how your company actually runs—Dreamforce ’25 was that moment.
